WHAT IT DOES
What does it do?
texbrain compiles .tex files directly to PDF in the browser without a separate backend. You can open a local folder, edit files, watch the PDF update, make commits, and push to GitHub. Chromium-based browsers also support reading and writing actual disk files.
KEY FEATURES
Key features
- Compile .tex files to PDF in the browser
- Edit local project folders and refresh PDFs
- Commit with Git and push to GitHub
- Interpret and display LaTeX errors as cards
EDITOR'S NOTE
Why did it stand out?
It brings the editor, compiler, and Git into one browser tab while keeping file handling on the client. Its approach to turning difficult LaTeX logs into cards with causes and remedies is also thoughtful.
