WHAT IT DOES
What does it do?
When a project is registered, Kavranta finds its actual .env files, Wrangler .dev.vars, and environment variable files in nested apps. Values stay in their existing files and are masked by default. It checks for missing values, parsing warnings, and Git exposure without reading the values themselves. Optional account information is stored in Apple Keychain or Windows Credential Manager, and access must be allowed for each project.
KEY FEATURES
Key features
- Automatically find the environment variable files a project actually uses
- Edit, link, share, and deploy environment variable files
- Mask values by default while retaining their physical file paths
- Combine checks for missing values, AI access, parsing warnings, and Git exposure
- Optionally store account information in the operating system’s secure storage
- Block project access for new accounts by default and require explicit permission
EDITOR'S NOTE
Why did it stand out?
It sets access boundaries while keeping secrets in existing environment variable files instead of moving them to a separate store. Its choice not to claim it has verified remote secrets it cannot read also inspires confidence.
