Fixrb
A Ruby testing framework that checks behavior against specifications separate from implementation classes.
What does it do?
Write what a subject should do in a test file instead of specifying its implementation, then select the subject to check at the end of the file. The same specification can be applied to a custom class or different versions of a dependency. Each context runs in a separate child process, so changes to global state do not affect other contexts. Results appear on 1 line per expectation and show whether the full specification is met.
Key features
- Specify expected behavior at MUST, SHOULD, and MAY levels
- Apply 1 specification to different test subjects
- Run each context in an isolated child process
- Display results for each expectation and whether the full specification is met
- Use execution results as data or matchers
