WHAT IT DOES
What does it do?
npunlock reconstructs the missing path that turns custom C code into executable Intel NPU kernels. It retains Intel’s compiler and driver for the surrounding graph and hardware execution, while requiring neither the OpenVINO runtime nor its Python package. It has currently been validated experimentally under limited conditions, including Meteor Lake·NPU3720 on Windows x64 and static shapes.
KEY FEATURES
Key features
- Convert custom C code into executable NPU kernels
- Run compatible custom graph operations on ACT-SHAVE
- Retain Intel’s compiler and driver for surrounding graph execution
- Embed a C kernel in Python and run it in an NPU graph
- Validate results against NumPy reference values
- Provide FP32, FP16, and separate mixed-precision branch examples
EDITOR'S NOTE
Why did it stand out?
It restores a missing path between public tools limited to the graph level and programmable NPU cores. Placing C kernels into graph operations while retaining the existing compiler and driver is a practical choice.
